program includes demonstrations and activities that show how light and
sound energy can be produced from other forms of energy. It does this
using
antique and modern technologies where the science involved is clearly
visible. For example it traces in the history of artificial sources of light and the energy conversions involved in the various technologies. The uses of UV light and infra red are illustrated. The transmission and detection of light energy is illustrated with several activities. The production of sound energy from various sources is demonstrated, with emphasis on the production of musical sounds.
