Telescopes
From Galileo to the SKA

April School Holidays Program.

Celebrate Galileo’s astronomical discoveries, come and try some of his original experiments. Find out about telescopes. Find out about radio-astronomy and the S.K.A.. Then make a Galilean telescope with real lenses to take home.

You can then explore the planets and the Moon as Galileo saw them! And use it to observe the transit of Venus across the Sun in June.

When: Monday April 16 - Friday April 20
Time: 10.30 am or 1.30 pm (one and half hours program)
Where: Melville Discovery Centre, Melville Civic Centre.
Suitable: for persons aged 8 - 16+ years.
Cost: $8 per person.
